Busy Times
Last few weeks have been hectic but I'm not complaining,
Covered a Corporate Day for an event company it was really good fun. Mixed group of clients, male & female some fishers others with no experience at all. As soon as I get the photos back I'll post some of them.
Then it was off to my early season trip up on the River Tay. Booked on for 2 days salmon fishing on the Bolfracks Estate water on the upper Tay. Conditions were good water temperature was fine and some fish were obviously running. Lost a nice fish at the Taill of the pool and later in the day my son did the same.
He did however manage to get one to stick and brought a nice 16lb fish to the bank which was a nice reward for a hard days fishing.
Thursday saw us back on the beat after hearing reports of local syndicate members catching the day before. The water was up a little and we saw a lot fewer fish this time but the ones we did were clearly heading as fast as they could up for the loch.
Sunday saw me back home and with a couple of Mike Rodens clients at Curleys Fishery, weather was awful but they braved it out and even managed to get an offer despite the conditions.
Back at Curleys again on Thursday, this time with a client of mine for a full day session. It was a good session and hopefully its given him the bug to have another go.
Next post will be from the USA, where I'm heading off to Anna Maria Island for 3 weeks, warmer climes and hopefully plenty of fish pulling on the line. Will be catching up with good friend Capt Chad Gamble of Hook & Ladder Charters and hopefully Leslie Holmes.
Tight Lines to all for the coming week.
Check out our late season course at Friars Carse Hotel on the River Nith
