Thanks

Firstly a quick 'thanks' to all those new followers of Cheshire Fly Fishing on Facebook.

Fishing trips are getting closer, a couple of sessions out locally this weekend with a new club member should be good if the fish are in an obliging mood, but hey it's just nice to be out.

Then its off to Kenmore in Perthshire at the middle of next week for a few days salmon fishing and hopefully some evening sessions for the wild brown trout.

Tight Lines for the coming week where ever you are fishing.

Check out our late season course at Friars Carse Hotel on the River Nith

Quick Post

Spent the last Friday with a client over at Curleys Fishery, good session he picked overhead & roll casts up very quickly. Hopefully it was enough to get him hooked on fly fishing.

Now the days are getting longer it gave me an opportunity to catch up with Chris at the Manchester Casting Club in Platt Fields. Spent most of the time chatting about what we'd been doing over the winter and eventually managed to get some practice in as well. It's not all about fishing, sharing thoughts and ideas all adds to the enjoyment.

Friday and I headed up to the hills to fish my local club water, lots of fish seemed to be rising as I made my way down to the water. Surprised to see that there was only another 2 anglers on, very quite considering that the weather was good.

As I walked down to the end of the lake fish were rising quite close in and looked as though they were in a feeding mood. On went the trusty Diawl Bach on the point and a home tied buzzer imitation on the dropper, it wasn't long before the line went taut and a cracking overwintered rainbow of about 2lb came to the net, full tailed and bright silver. Moving back down the bank another six fish came to the net so nice for a short session.

Hopefully will be meeting up with fellow instructor Chris Hague from Yorkshire for a bit of casting later this week and then over to the Fly Only open day on Saturday, may even try another quick session in in-between

Tight Lines for the coming week where ever you are fishing.
